SOUTH BURLINGTON — One by one, seven candidates for governor came out on stage and tried to win over the votes of a roomful of business people Thursday.
They took a wide berth away from raising taxes, talked about the good and bad that faces Vermont businesses, and named governors they look up to at a forum before about 100 people during the Vermont Chamber of Commerce’s annual business exposition at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center.
The event marked the first time Republican candidate Brian Dubie and independent Dennis Steele had joined a forum with the five Democratic candidates, who’ve faced off in numerous debates. Read More…
